Sustainable development

IMG_4775Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to do the same is becoming an increasingly important subject that touches on many different fields. Nevertheless, it is a topic that demands specific knowledge and expertise in its own right, in areas such as governance, human development and wellbeing, human rights, green technologies, innovation, conservation, and many more. Members of the Tamarin team have worked in the promotion of sustainable development in the North York Moors National Park, as part of the National Park’s strategy to encourage the development of local environmentally-friendly businesses, green tourism and sustainable transport; and been responsible for the collection and extraction of statistical data on organic farming in France and the coordination of the annual publication Chiffres clés de l’agriculture biologique française (Statistics on Organic Farming in France). Sustainable development has also been a theme of many of the books we’ve worked on, such as the French Development Agency’s ‘Building the Future We Want.
