At Tamarin, you could say we’ve grown up with climate change. Three of the team were studying environmental science at university in the early 1990s, a period when public awareness on global warming was beginning to grow, and a scientific consensus on the reality of anthropogenic climate change was building. Since then, given the severity and extent of the impacts, the issue has unsurprisingly dominated our academic and professional lives. We work with government institutes, universities, NGOs and many other organizations that have a major involvement in tackling climate change and related issues. We write original copy and edit, proofread and translate text by academics and other researchers on subjects as diverse as sea level rise and the threats to low lying communities; predicting and managing the impacts on food security caused by climate change; and the affects of climate change on human rights. We write about complex and technical issues for experts, while we also distil the inherent complexity of climate change to get the message across to those with less specialist knowledge.
